Whisk via preamp and soundcard
This is a whisk connected to a piezo mic running through an Acxico AD828 preamplifier board preamp and into an USB external sound card.
Piezo mic connected to portable recorder
The piezo mic can also be connected to a digital audio recorder to walk around and find sounds. (Did not use preamp on this setup.)
Sounds collected with a transducer mic and recorder and mixed into a composition
Sounds collected via piezo mic connected to a digital recorder and edited together in Audacity. Sounds are from a stainless steel water bottle, comb, toothbrush, antique cranberry rake, metal grill, kitchen whisks, glass jar filled with popcorn, running kitchen faucet, two stainless steel bowls, mechanical stopwatch, metal straw, wind up clock, and a dying fluorescent tube.
